Twenty-Seventh Sunday In Ordinary Time


CAFOD Family Fast Day Collection this weekend
CAFOD works with poor communities overseas on our behalf, helping them to tackle poverty and injustice.
Last Friday was Family Fast Day, please return your CAFOD envelope this weekend, with your donation and contribute to of the second collection which will take place at all Masses.

Legion of Mary
As October is the month of the Holy Rosary, the Legion of Mary will recite the Rosary on the Wednesday’s of October at 3.45pm (after school) in the Church.
We are inviting children and their families to join us for 15 minutes on the 10th, 17th, 24th & 31st to pray the Rosary in Honour of Our Lady.
Confirmation Candidates
There will be a meeting for the Candidates and their parents on Thursday, 11th October at 7.00 pm in the Parish Hall.
Christmas Bazaar
Does anyone have an original, sparkling ideas for the upcoming Bazaar on 24th November? 
If so, would you like to organise a stall?

Macmillan Coffee Morning
Thank you to all those in the Parish and Botwell School who supported the recent coffee morning which realised £660.00 which has been sent for cancer support.
New Group for Yr7+
A new group has been formed for Year 7 children and above with their parents to get together on a Friday evening once a month. The idea  is to meet socially and to keep in touch with friends.  Following a successful first meeting the group will meet in the Community Centre from 6.45—7.45pm.  The next meeting will be on Friday 26th October.  If you are interested please contact Teresa Thornton.
Parish Office
We now have a new group of volunteers to staff the office each weekday evening from 7—9 pm. 
Men’s Evening
The next Men’s Evening will be next Saturday, 13th October at 7.00 pm in the Upper Room.  A chance to meet and share.  Just come along or for more details text: 07494280867
Children’s Liturgy
Children’s liturgy will be held every Sunday until 25th November at the 12 noon Mass.
Junior Branch   Initial sessions to be held every Sunday until 11th November from 1.00—3.00pm.

Parish Maintenance
The Maintenance Committee is one of about eight parish groups that constitute the Parish Council. Each group committee is made up of about five or six people that are involved in the functioning of the group’s activities. The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Botwell or Botwell Church constitutes three individual buildings:
¨ The Church.
¨ The Parochial House, including the Upper and Claret Room and the Community Centre.
¨ The Social Centre.
All these buildings are now aging and in need of improvements and ongoing maintenance which involves a considerable amount of management

Holy Hour for Vocations
The next Holy Hour for Vocations will take place in the Church on Monday 8th October commencing at 7.30pm.  All are welcome.
Knights of St Columba
The monthly Council meeting will be on Monday 8th October commencing at 8.00 pm in the Claret Room.  New members always welcome.
Gift Aid Envelopes
Recently requested Blue Gift Aid envelopes are available for collection from the Parish office.
Parish Newsletter
The weekly parish newsletter is now being sent by email to all those parishioners who are on the database with an email address. In some instances the email address is incorrect or has been misread.  In order to correct any errors, you may receive a phone call from the parish office with a request to confirm your email address.

Society of St Vincent de Paul
There will be a retiring collection next weekend by the Society of St Vincent de Paul.
Tea & Coffee
Tea & Coffee are served in the foyer of the Main Hall every Sunday from 9.00am to 12 noon. An opportunity to meet friends and catch up on the week’s events.
