Fourth Sunday In Ordinary Time

***

Cardinal’s Mass of Thanksgiving for the Sacrament of Matrimony
Westminster Cathedral,
Saturday 8th June 2019 at 3.00pm.
The Cardinal will be inviting to this Mass all couples in the Diocese who
are celebrating their 5th, 10th, 25th, 30th, 40th, 50th and 60th (and every year over 60) wedding anniversary of Catholic marriage in 2019. If you are celebrating an anniversary, please give your parish the following details:  husband’s and wife’s names, wedding date, full postal address and email (or telephone number, if no email).  A list for these details is available in the Parish Office.

New Parish Minibus
We are looking for more people to drive the minibus to bring people to Mass on a Sunday and other parish activities.  Please give your name and contact details into the Parish Office if you would be interested in helping with this.

Junior Readers
If your child is a good reader and would like to read at Mass, please get in touch with Sheila Vedanayagam on 07432 047717.  Training and guidance will be provided.

Safeguarding Message to parents:
Please take your child to the toilet instead of letting them run in on their own.  Children should not be left unattended when they use the toilet facilities in public spaces.

The Society of Our Lady of Lourdes
The Society of Our Lady of Lourdes plans to run a minibus to Westminster Cathedral on Saturday 9th February for the Annual Mass of the Sick in Honour of Our Lady of Lourdes.  Details and a list for names are on the noticeboard in the side porch of the Church. Thank you

Children’s Liturgy
Numbers are growing and thriving!  There is a real demand from the children to have a liturgy tailored to them however, we are still struggling with volunteers.
The existing group of volunteers are wonderful, however, they are unable to commit every week.
Please contact Sheila on 07432 047717 if you are interested in joining the group.
Minimum requirements:
Must submit a completed DBS form to the parish office and also commit to a Sunday 12.00 noon Mass once a month.  Full training will be provided.

 Keeping our Church Clean
If you can spare an hour or two to help in the hoovering and cleaning of our church on Saturday mornings it would greatly support our amazing Cleaning Group. As  they say, many hands make light work and we could do with more hands.  Cleaning usually starts at around 9.00am, however, if you're coming for the first time please arrive at 10.00am and the fabulous ladies will show you the ropes.         Thank you!

In Memoriam
The reception of the body of James Casey RIP will be on Tuesday 5th February at 6.45pm with Requiem Mass on Wednesday 6th at 12.15 pm. Please remember James and his family in your prayers.

Seating in Church
If there are available seats during mass, please kindly take one instead
of standing at the back of the church. The only exception being is that you
have a medical condition that makes it uncomfortable for you to sit down.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion not only require sufficient space at the back of the church, they also need to be able to serve in a dignified manner from one queue instead of serving 2-3 queues of parishioners simultaneously and in a disorderly fashion. Please be patient and mindful by forming one queue per Minister that is serving.
Thank you.

Parish Gift Aid Scheme
If you pay tax on your income of salary, pension or savings why not consider Gift Aid for your weekly offering?  Simply complete a Gift Aid Declaration form, available from the Parish Office and receive a box of blue envelopes for your weekly offering, alternatively, offerings can be made by Bankers Order.
Donating through Gift Aid means that the church can claim an extra 25p for every £1.00 of offering you give at no extra cost to yourself!

Church Doors
Please remember to close the doors when entering or leaving the church to try and preserve the heat during this cold weather.      Thank you.

Society of St Vincent de Paul
There will be a retiring collection next weekend by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

Parish Repository
A good selection of Rosaries, Prayer books and Baptism gifts and cards are available to purchase from the Repository in the Parish Office and at the front of the Church.
