Botwell Summer Fete 
Saturday 16th June

GRAND DRAW
 First prize—£1,500.00
Second prize—£500.00
Third prize— £250.00
 
Tickets are available from the Parish Office at 50p a ticket or £5.00 a book.
We are asking you to take books of tickets and sell as many as you can. When the counterfoils and money are returned, the total number sold by individuals will be recorded and a prize will be awarded to the individual with the most tickets sold.
  
The theme of the Fete this year is
INTERNATIONAL FAMILY DAY
 
Maybe you could form a group to perform a traditional dance or song—please think about it!

Can you help!  Have you any large clean carpets that could be used for the dancers also, we need to borrow(!) a 40inch+ TV, in working order that can be used for displaying the games.  Thank you.
 
Altar Servers
Rotas for May and June are available for collection from the Sacristy.
Ascension Day
Thursday 10th May is Ascension Day and is a Holy Day of Obligation. Masses will be at 9.30am (Botwell School) 12.15 and 7.30pm.
 
Diaconate Ordination
The ordination to the Diaconate of Joseph Raju Katthula will take place on Friday 18th May at 7.30pm. Please come along and support Joseph on this his special day.  The Mass will be followed by refreshments in the Social Hall.
 
First Holy Communion Masses
We would like to let our parishioners know that the First Holy Communion Masses 2018 are going to be celebrated on:-
Saturday 19th & Saturday 26th May at 12:15 and on Sunday 27th May at 12:00 .  All our parishioners are kindly invited to support these children.
If anyone is interested in supporting a particular child, you can come to the parish office and we will tell you the date that each individual is taking their First Holy Communion.

Training for New Eucharistic Ministers
If you are interested in knowing more about this service and have been confirmed and able to receive communion, please come along to the Upper Room of Botwell House on one of the following dates/times:-
 
Tuesday 8th May  7.00—9.00 pm
Saturday 12th May 10.00am—12 noon.
Thursday 24th May 7.00—9.00 pm.
 
In Memoriam
The funeral of Violet Rennewell RIP will take place on Tuesday 8th May, the funeral of Roy Williams RIP will take place on Wednesday 9th May and the funeral of Michael Garcia RIP on Thursday 10th May. All funerals take place at 12.15pm. Please remember Violet, Roy and Michael and their families in your prayers.

Betty O’Rourke RIP (nee Thorndike) passed away peacefully on 26th April 2018.  She was the first Catholic female Mayor of Hillingdon in 1978/79 and often attended Mass here in Hayes. Her Civic Mass was also celebrated here by the late Rt Rev Gerald Mahon RIP.
 
Legion of Mary
During the month of May, the Legion of Mary will recite the Rosary each Wednesday at 3.45pm (after school) in the Church.  We are inviting children and their families to join us for 15 minutes on the 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th  to pray the Rosary in Honour of Our Lady.
 
Parish Bulletin
The Spring issue of the Parish Bulletin is available this weekend after Mass and from the Parish Office.  Priced at £1.00 per copy.    
 
Youth Committee Update
Youth sessions to be held in the Claret Room (for children aged 6-13)  from 1.00—3.00pm on 13th & 20th May; 3rd & 10th June and 1st & 8th July.
Activities include: Bible Study; Yoga; Drama; Games and Singing.
If you would like your child to take part in these Youth sessions, please contact Sheila from the Youth Committee on 07432 047717.
 
Children's Liturgy Update
The Children's Liturgy (during Sunday's 12 noon Mass) will be held in the Claret Room on the following dates:- 13th & 20th May.
 

 
Claretian “Camino de Santiago”
For young adults over 18—join Claretians and young people from Spain, Portugal and the UK (the soon to be Claretian Province of Fatima) from 19th—30th July. 
Cost: £200.00 + cost of flight.
