Third Sunday In Ordinary Time

Senior Parishioners Party
The SVP and the Parish Pastoral Committee invite you to the Senior Parishioners Party to be held on Saturday 2nd February 2019.
· Reception at 1.00 pm.
·    Dinner at 1.45 pm.
This  invitation is open to all our wonderful Senior Parishioners with tickets now available from the Parish Office. Let us know of anyone who would like to attend but is unable to collect a ticket. Transport for the party will be available. Please advise if this is required.
We would be grateful for any help on
· Friday 1st February from 10.00am for food preparation and set up of the hall.
· Saturday 2nd February from 11.00 am.
Please   leave   your   name   and approximate time you are available to help in the Parish Office.  Any help is greatly appreciated to make this an enjoyable day.    Thank you.
New Parish Minibus
We are looking for more people to drive the minibus to bring people to Mass on a Sunday and other parish activities.
Please give your name and contact details into the Parish Office if you would be interested in helping with this.
 Junior Readers
If your child is a good reader and would like to read at Mass, please get in touch with Sheila Vedanayagam on 07432 047717.  Training and guidance will be provided.
Seating in Church
If there are available seats during mass, please kindly take one instead of standing at the back of the church. The only exception being is that you have a medical condition that makes it uncomfortable for you to sit down.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion not only require sufficient space at the back of the church, they also need to be able to serve in a dignified manner from one queue instead of serving 2-3 queues of parishioners simultaneously and in a disorderly fashion. Please be patient and mindful by forming one queue per Minister that is serving.    Thank you.
Children’s Liturgy
Numbers are growing and thriving!  There is a real demand from the children to have a liturgy tailored to them however, we are still struggling with volunteers.
The existing group of volunteers are wonderful, however, they are unable to commit every week.
Please contact Sheila on 07432 047717 if you are interested in joining the group.
Minimum requirements:
Must submit a completed DBS form to the parish office and also commit to a Sunday 12.00 noon Mass once a month.  Full training will be provided.
Message to parents:
Please take your child to the toilet instead of letting them run in on their own.  Children should not be left unattended when they use the toilet facilities in public spaces
In Memoriam
The funeral of Rosaleen Mulligan RIP will take place on Friday 1st February at 12.15pm.  Please remember Rosaleen and her family in your prayers.
Keeping our Church Clean
If you can spare an hour or two in hovering and cleaning our church on Saturday mornings it would greatly support our amazing Cleaning Group. As  they say, many hands make light work & we could do with more hands.  Cleaning usually starts at around 9.00am, however, if you're coming for the first time please arrive at 10am and the fabulous ladies will show you the ropes. Thank you!
Parish Gift Aid Scheme
If you pay tax on your income of salary, pension or savings why not consider Gift Aid for your weekly offering?  Simply complete a Gift Aid Declaration form, available from the Parish Office and receive a box of blue envelopes for your weekly offering, alternatively, offerings can be made by Bankers Order.
Donating through Gift Aid means that the church can claim an extra 25p for every £1.00 of offering you give at no extra cost to yourself!
Lost Items
If you have lost or mislaid any items e.g. umbrellas, keys, handbags, rosaries, missals etc, in the Church or around the grounds, please enquire in the Parish Office as there are a number of such items which have been handed in over the past few weeks.
