Dominic West - Pastoral Assistant

Regrettably, Dominic West has moved on from his position as Pastoral Assistant for personal reasons.  We thank him for his contribution and pray that God may be with him in his future endeavours.  He thanks you for your welcome and hospitality to him, during his time here, and he assures you of his continued prayers.

Lent Lunches:  Every Wednesday  between 4th March—1st April

Please add your name to the list in the Parish Office if you would like to donate a pot of home-made soup.  Just bring the soup to the Social Centre kitchen by 11.30am on your chosen day.  If you have no transport we can collect Tuesday evening or early on Wednesday.  Many thanks to all who contribute, the helpers and those that come along for lunch.  All proceeds go to Sr Maria Holly and the street children of the Philippines .

Archbishop’s Mass of Thanksgiving on Saturday 30th May 2009 at 3.00pm.

The Cardinal is inviting to this Mass, which will be held in the Cathedral, all couples in the Diocese who are celebrating their 10th, 25th, 40th, 50th and 60th+ wedding anniversary of Catholic marriage in 2009. 

If you qualify, please don’t delay in telling the parish clergy.  He will need: husband and wife’s names, wedding date, full postal address and email if you have one, if not a phone number.  Information can be left in the Parish Office. 

This information will then be sent to the Diocesan Department for Pastoral Affairs by 28th February who will then send out invitations on behalf of the Cardinal.  It is likely that the new Archbishop will be the principal celebrant at the Mass.

Pield Heath Convent

We are a nursing home based near Hillingdon Hospital .  We are looking for someone to assist in our laundry department to cover for someone who is on long term sick.  Hours: 9.00am—12 noon, Monday to Friday.

Catholic Education Service

As detailed in the enclosed insert the first of our series of second collections will be next Sunday for the Catholic Education Service.

Eucharistic Ministers

There will be a meeting of Eucharistic Ministers on Wednesday 18th February at 8.00pm in the Claret Room.

Fairtrade Fortnight:  23rd February—8th March

As part of Fairtrade Fortnight, a stall will be open in the foyer of the main hall.  Tea & coffee will be available in the mornings of 23rd—27th February and 2nd—7th March, 8.30—9.30am and 2.45—4.00pm. There will be a selection of Fairtrade products which will give you the opportunity to view and buy the merchandise, at the same time support the poor communities and help to transform their lives.

If you can help to run a Stall during this annual event, please add you name to the rota in the side porch.   Thank you.

Fairtrade Coffee Morning

In addition to our annual campaign there will be a coffee morning on Sunday 1st March, 9.00am—1.30pm.  Refreshments will be served and the Fairtrade stall will be available in the foyer of the main hall.  Please support us.

Knights of St Columba

During the 7.30pm Mass on Friday 20th February there will be a short ceremony when certain members of the Order are raised to Full Knighthood (this will include two members of Hayes council) and some new members will be welcomed into the Order.

Botwell School Quiz Night

Please come along and join in our fundraising event in the school hall on Friday 27th February, commencing at 7.00pm.

Tickets are £5 per person. Maximum number per team is 8 (Adults only).  Make up your team beforehand or join together on the night.  Bring your own drinks, glasses and snacks.

There will be prizes for the winning team.  Have fun—exercise your brain cells and support the school!
