Secondary School References
Fr Martin will be available for Secondary School references on
6th - 7th October. Please come to the Parish Office during these days and, especially in the evening, ring both doorbells. Regrettably we must affirm that Secondary School application forms will only be signed during these four days.
Fr Paul’s leaving Mass
Fr Paul’s leaving celebration will take place next Sunday 11th October 2009. The 5.00pm Mass will be followed by a reception with International food in the Parish Social Hall with the focus on Italian, Indian and Spanish cuisine. We are asking for people to bring salads and desserts and to write their names in the list which will be available in the side porch and office. If anyone is willing to volunteer in any way, please leave your details in the Parish Office for the attention of Elaine and Lisa.
First Communion Parents Evening
The First Communion Parent’s evening will take place on 14th October at 6.30pm. It is crucial that at least one parent be present as this year’s course will be explained and timetables distributed. (Application forms should be in by this weekend)

Youth Centre Progress
The Youth Centre refurbishment is progressing really well and is on target to be completed by December of this year ready to open in January. To date we have paid £152,056 of the £205,000 overall cost. We thank all those generous parishioners who have given their support, both financial and practical, to make this project possible. It will provide the parish with a wonderful resource for many years to come. We will keep you informed as we approach the completion of this venture. Thank you!
Recitation of the Rosary
May and October are the months of the Holy Rosary. The Legion of Mary will recite the rosary on the Wednesday's of October at 3.30pm (after school) in the church. We are inviting the children and their families to join us for 15 minutes on the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th in praying the rosary in Honour of Our Lady.
Fairtrade Week
This event will run from 5th—9th October, 8.30am—9.00am and 2.45pm—3.45pm. There will be a stall selling a selection of Fairtrade Products in the foyer of the Main Hall. Fairtrade teas and coffees will also be served during the morning.
Friends of the Homeless
The Friends would like to thank the kind parishioners for their recent donations totaling £40.00.
Christmas Bazaar

Sincere Thanks . . .
Sheila and the Forde family would like to express their most sincere thanks for the prayers, masses and many expressions of sympathy and support in their recent sad bereavement. The presence of such large numbers on both days is especially appreciated.

New rotas are available for collection from the sacristy.
Parking at School Time
A reminder, that due to reasons of health and safety, parents are not permitted to use the parking facilities within the church grounds.
Parents must make alternative arrangements otherwise they will be issued with a fixed penalty notice of £60.00 + VAT.
We apologise but hope that you will understand that the health and safety of people accessing our site is of paramount importance and comes before any inconvenience that this might cause. Thank you.
Church Cleaning
Volunteers are needed to help wash and clean the seats and door windows in the church. We would like to start on Wednesday morning at 10.00am. Please come along to help if you have an hour to spare. Thank you.
Finance Committee
There will be a meeting of the Parish Finance Committee on Wednesday 7th October at 8.00pm in the Claret Room.
Society of St Vincent de Paul
The retiring collection next weekend will be taken up by the SVP to help the needy of the parish and beyond.
Knights of St Columba
The monthly committee meeting will take place on Monday 5th October at 8.00pm in the Claret Room.
Adoration of the Eucharist
Adoration takes place every Friday from 10.00am until 12 noon and continues after the 12.15 Mass until 3.00pm. Those who spend a regular weekly hour in the presence of Jesus claim that this time has changed their lives.
World Mission Sunday
Sunday, 18th October, is World Mission Sunday. There will be a retiring collection to help and support our mission work in Belize .
