Church Redecoration
Over the last few weeks and months we have been busy completing some necessary repairs to the church including the rewiring of the Stations of the Cross. We are also pushing forward with some needed work to a small number of concrete pillars. All this is in preparation for the redecoration of the church which we aim to undertake this year.
While these works continue we need to raise in excess of £50,000 for all the planned works which include redecorating, floors, carpets and pew restoration. We hope that, as with other needed projects, you will be generous and supportive.
In the past we have estimated how much each adult would need to give to reach the said amount. While giving £50 per adult would allow us to complete these works, in the long run we would be in a better position if everyone committed themselves to giving £1 per person more per week either in the collection or to the building fund.
We would also encourage all tax payers to join the Gift Aid scheme and Gift Aid any contributions that you might make. This would ensure that, as well as responding to the day to day needs of the parish we would have a small reserve which we could turn to for extraordinary expenses.
Thank you for your generosity and continued support. Fr Martin
