Botwell Celebrates 90 years of Catholic Education
The school year 1931/2 saw the Claretian Missionaries and the Poor Servants of the Mother of God establish Botwell House primary school. That marked the beginning of 90 years of commitment to Catholic education.
To celebrate this accomplishment, we are arranging a series of reunions for those who benefited from the Catholic education provided by the parish not just through Botwell but also in the Catholic secondary schools that parishioners attended: Our Lady and St Anselm later known as Walsingham, Douay Martyrs, Gumley House, Salvatorian College, Sacred Heart, St Bernard’s, Gunnersbury etc
Each reunion will be open to anyone who participated in the education and Catholic life of the different institutions that provided parishioners with a Catholic education.
The 60’s reunion took place on April 29th. It was a good evening with good food and good company – if you missed out come and join us for the 1970’s reunion.
The cost of participation will be £10 and cover the expenses of the music and hot food. A licensed bar will be available. We also intend to create a montage of photos for the period covered by the reunion so if you have any old photos from your school days, please scan them or make a copy on your phone so you can send them to us on paulasmythcmf@fatimacmf.org.
